On Thursday 7 June 2018, during the EU Sustainable Energy Week, BTG and CTFC from Spain has hosted the SecureChain final conference in Brussels.
In the conference the potential of SMEs for stimulating innovation and employment in sustainable bioenergy in rural regions was shown. Lessons learned from various support and mentoring approaches for SMEs were presented and discussed. SecureChain results were presented, with special emphasis on the Innovation Voucher competition that was held in six regions in the EU.

Besides SecureChain, the conference has also offered a podium to several other European market uptake projects, namely BIO4ECO, Greengain, Up-running, Forbio, and BioVill. At the end of the conference a round table discussion highlighted the opportunities and difficulties of bioenergy market uptake.
