High pressure test facility

High pressure test facility

For the development and testing of processes under elevated pressure and above a certain volume BTG has constructed two types of high pressure boxes to allow for safe testing. Thick-walled, concrete bunkers are used for pilot-plant testing.

Gas boosters are available to supply different gases (e.g. hydrogen, nitrogen) to the process at pressures up to 300 bar. Typical processes currently tested are:

  • Catalytic Hydrogenation of oil
  • Reforming in sub- and supercritical water
  • Methanol synthesis
  • (Catalytic) Liquid phase processing
  • (Catalytic) Aqueous phas processing
