Many tools to stimulate procurement of bio-based products and services available

The European project InnProBio, that  supports the uptake of bio-based procurement, has now come to an end following a three-year term. This has seen the finalisation and publication of several new reports including a practical handbook tailored to the public sector to support public procurement.

The InnProBio handbook provides practical advice on how to go about purchasing bio-based products, or services using bio-based products. It forms part of the online Toolbox designed as the starting point for public buyers to get informed about the various bio-based products available on the market and how to buy them through a public procurement process. Tools provided include a product database, training manuals, factsheets on bio-based products, a glossary, text blocks for tenders that procurers can use and much more.

All project results were checked for legal compliance and were designed in close collaboration with procurement practitioners for optimum value. BTG Biomass Technology Group BV lead the developing of the toolset. Thet are available in four languages: English, German, Polish and Dutch.

InnProBio has recieved funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement no. 652599.
